155 cos to make placement offers at IIMB

Eighteen foreign corporates will be among 155 companies that will come calling on March 10 to the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore for a three-day recruitment campaign.
The recruiting companies with equal spread from the key sectors of finance and banking IT and marketing would be making placement offers to the students.
During the weekend, the current batch of probables, comprising 180 students will have to choose from about 155 corporates, including 18 international recruiters. Out of the 155 companies expected, only about 125 are expected to be slotted in which 30 finance and banking companies, 30 IT companies, 37 marketing companies and about 18 consulting firms would make their calls, Mr G.K. Nagaraj, Placement Officer, IIM, Bangalore, told Business Line. "We may have to say `no' to 30-40 companies," he said.
Last year, 78 companies made 328 offers (including 53 foreign offers) to 190 students. Cognizant Technologies was one of the highest recruiters with 33 offers and 27 acceptances.
