IOB hikes NRE deposit rate

Chennai, March 5

Indian Overseas Bank has hiked interest rate on NRE term deposits by 20 basis points from March 1, 2006, according to a press release from the bank. The revised rate is 5.9 per cent on deposits from one year to less than five years. IOB's NRE deposits are now about Rs 5,500 crore ($1,241 million).
