Water levels decline in Kerala reservoirs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water levels at the two major reservoirs in the State - Idukki and Idamalayar - have recorded a decline compared to the readings made a week ago.

According to figures released by the Central Water Commission, the level declined from 2,380.21 ft to 2,377.55 ft at Idukki and from 520.60 ft to 517.09 ft at Idamalayar.

But the level at the Kallada reservoir rose from 371.46 ft to 372.05 ft week-on-week.

Comparison with the readings made a year ago revealed that the levels have gone up by 27.21 ft at Idukki, 29.39 ft at Idamalayar and by 11.55 ft at Kallada.
