TN Chamber seeks panel to remove hurdles in SEZ Act implementation

Our Correspondent

Madurai , Feb 12

THE Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for constituting a high-level committee to look into implementation bottlenecks of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Act 2005.

The Chamber President, Mr S. Rethinavelu, has said that such a committee is necessary to further relax the norms wherever necessary.

Hailing the move to bring into force the SEZs Act 2005, he said that it was necessary for the country to move towards modern version of SEZs - free ports and growth clusters, most appropriate for a developing country like India.
