Flakt Woods to make India sourcing hub

FLAKT Woods, the air handling equipment manufacturer with its headquarters in Switzerland, is looking to strengthen its operations in India while using it as a supply base to grow in Europe.

Mr Didier Forget, Chief Executive Officer, Flakt Woods Group, said the company is identifying Indian suppliers for components to its cater to its European market.

Also the construction boom and the buoyant economy in India have made it an attractive market, where Flakt Woods would introduce new products and bring in new investments.

He launched a ductless ventilation system for basement car parks. The ventilation system is a new concept that does away with ducts and is computer driven, he said.

Mr Anil R. Baijal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Flakt (India) Ltd, said the company has manufacturing units in Chennai and in Kolkata. The company has invested over Rs 20 crore to strengthen its operations in India and is likely to invest an equal amount during the current year.

Flakt Woods has a presence in 90 countries with manufacturing facilities in 30 of them. Its air movement and air handling equipment are used in a wide range of industries and buildings.
