Refractory congress at Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: The two-day India International Refractory Congress, being jointly organised by the Visakhapatnam steel plant and the Vizag chapter of the Indian Institute of Metals, will begin in the plant on Friday. The Indian Ceramic Society and the Indian Refractory Makers' Association are also associated with it.

The seminar, to be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Mr Dasari Narayana Rao, will be attended by 350 delegates from different parts of the country and 38 from abroad. The theme is "emerging challenges and opportunities in the refractory sector''.

The Chairman and Managing Director of the steel plant, Mr Y. Sivasagara Rao, and the Joint Managing Director of Jindal Southwest Steel Ltd, Dr B.N. Singh, will participate in it. The latter will deliver the keynote address.

An exhibition of refractory products will also be organised on the occasion.
