Pay Commission

This is with reference to "Not another pay commission please!" (Business Line, January 23). The article mirrors a realistic picture of the after-effects of the last Pay Commission. It may be remembered that the recommendations were accepted by the then United Front Government. Since then, a plethora of high-ranking posts have been created in almost all the departments with designations such as Principal Chief Accountant General, Principal Chief Postmaster General. In fact, every one of the middle- and high-level officers have carved out empires and states of their own.
