Bribe tax

This is with reference to, "Factor in the bribe rate too," (Business Line, January 26). The article ought to be an eye-opener to the powers-that-be. My heartiest congratulations to the author for writing a thought-provoking article.

Congratulations to the author. The material will come in handy as I teach `Public Finance in India'. We must fight corruption. Accountability of the government and civil servants is vital. Attitudes of businesses and ordinary citizens must improve.

It is unfortunate that corruption has spread its ugly roots in India. A largely corrupt political class has meant the end of values. Civil society must come to together and fight the menace before it destroys us all.

The article is a true reflection of our society. I agree with author on the issue of reducing tax.
