Colour-Chem posts 11% rise in net profit

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Jan. 25

COLOUR-Chem Ltd has reported an 11 per cent increase in its December 2005 quarter net profit at Rs 1.32 crore compared to Rs 1.19 crore in the year-ago period.

Net sales grew by 14 per cent to Rs 95.81 crore.

Other expenditure for the quarter rose substantially, largely on account of a one-time adjustment of profit on sale of land amounting to Rs 1.18 crore.

The company said its shareholders had voted in favour of the proposal to merge the Clariant affiliates — namely Clariant (India) Ltd, BTP India Pvt Ltd and Colour-Chem's subsidiaries, Vanavil Dyes and Chemicals Ltd and Kundalika Investments Ltd — into Colour-Chem Ltd.

Other approvals are awaited to enable the merged company to begin operations under the new name of Clariant Chemicals (India) Ltd.
