New Delhi , Jan. 22 RELIANCE Infocomm on Sunday announced free out-going calls worth up to Rs 2,000 on some of its new handsets, along with lower local and STD call charges. On buying a handset costing Rs 2,700, the subscriber would get up to Rs 2,000 free talktime for making outgoing calls, along with 2,000 local short messages (SMS) free of charge, Mr S.P. Shukla, President (Wireless), Reliance Infocomm, said here. Giving details of the new tariff plan called "Free Outgoing Calls", Mr Shukla said the scheme would be bundled with the purchase of five different handset models. On three handsets costing Rs 2,700, Rs 3,999 and Rs 7,999, subscribers would get outgoing free worth Rs 2,000 along with 2,000 free local SMS. On two of the lower-end handsets costing Rs 1,999 and Rs 3,500, the free outgoing talktime would be Rs 1,000. "Millions of our customers are deriving benefits of free incoming offer of 1-2-3 years and lifetime validity. With the new offers we wish to address those subscribers who also have high need for making outgoing calls," Mr Shukla said. He said the free outgoing calls worth up to Rs 2,000 can be made within nine month with a minimum recharge of Rs 149 after two month from the date of subscription. The company also announced lifetime incoming free offer on its pre-paid fixed wireless phone. Under the scheme, the user by making a one-time payment of Rs 2,999 (plus service tax) can receive incoming calls free for life.
