Personal Products Godrej Consumer Q3 net up 39 pc Our Bureau
Mumbai , Jan. 21 GODREJ Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has reported a 38.81 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 36.12 crore for the third quarter of 2005-06 against Rs 26.02 crore in the year-ago period. Sales rose to Rs 169.12 crore from Rs 153.05 crore. "We have recorded highest ever profits and sales during the December quarter. A combination of external factors and internal measures have helped us achieve this growth,'' Mr Adi Godrej, Chairman, GCPL, told Business Line. 75% third interim: The company's board of directors has recommended a 75 per cent third interim dividend totalling 225 per cent for nine months. The company's brand sales grew by 16 per cent during the quarter. Its PBIDT moved up 32 per cent to Rs 43.3 crore. The company continued to see robust growth in soap and hair colour business. Sales of Godrej branded soaps grew by 12 per cent in the quarter and 17 per cent during the nine-month period ended December 2005. Its hair colour business grew by 24 per cent during the quarter. Toiletries sales increased by 57 per cent. Sales of Ezee, liquid detergent grew by 12 per cent on account of a strong winter season this time. In its consolidated performance, GCPL reported a 10 per cent increase in net sales revenue at Rs 169.1 crore. Keyline brand sales for November and December 2005 stood at GBP 1.9 million despite the seasonal pattern of sales.
