Chennai to host World Spices meet

THE Eighth World Spices Congress - 2006 will be held in Chennai during January 27-29.

The three-day congress, which would have different sessions on business, quality and food safety, crops and markets and futures trading in spices etc, will be inaugurated by the Union Commerce Secretary, Mr S N Menon.

Experts from various governmental and industrial establishments will participate and present papers at the respective sessions.

Speakers include Mr C J Jose, Chairman, Spices Board; Mr S Sundaresan, Chairman, Forward Market Commission; and Mr Thomas Philip, Chairman, All India Spices Exporters Forum. Those expected to participate include Mr Paul Heubener of Griffith Laboratories, the US, Mr Roger Lawrence of Technical Evaluation McCormick & Company Inc, the US; Mr M.S.A Kumar, Managing Director, AVT McCormick Ingredients, Cochin; and Mr Roger Clarke, Quality Auditor, Cannamela, Italy.
