Bajaj Hindusthan to invest Rs 440 cr in expansion

BAJAJ Hindusthan on Friday announced its plans to set up a greenfield sugar plant and expand power cogeneration with a total investment of Rs 440 crore.

It has also recorded a 138 per cent growth with a net profit of Rs 24.24 crore for the first quarter ended December 31, 2005 as against Rs 10.19 crore during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Total revenue increased by 138 per cent to touch Rs 293.90 crore, from Rs 123.31 crore in the previous corresponding quarter.

It would set up a new plant with cane crushing capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day (TCD), expandable to 7,000 TCD along with 10 MW co-generation plant, at an estimated project cost of Rs 200 crore.
