SBT net tad up in 9 months

STATE Bank of Travancore (SBT) has registered a net profit of Rs 163.50 crore during the first nine months of 2005-06 as compared with Rs 161.21 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The operating profit during the period stood at Rs 425.56 crore, while the total business of the bank reached a level of Rs 43,326 crore, according to a statement from the bank.

The net interest income went up by 5.05 per cent to reach Rs 712.27 crore as against Rs 677.99 crore during the same period last year. The performance of the bank during the first nine months of the current fiscal was taken on record at a meeting of the Board of Directors held here on Tuesday.
