Tata Motors unveils Indica V2 Xeta, X-over

TATA Motors on Thursday unveiled the new Indica V2 Xeta (extra fuel efficiency, torque advantage engine) and the X-over, a crossover concept car that will be positioned as a family car with the looks of a sports utility vehicle.

The Indica Xeta is equipped with a 1.4-litre engine and is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 14 km per litre. It is priced between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.65 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. At that price level, the new version will compete with the Alto and lower priced variants of premium small cars.

Tata also unveiled the long wheel base version of Indigo, the Indigo XL. It is a luxury sedan with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm and premium features. The other cars on display at the Tata Motors' stall are the Indica V2 turbo diesel with dual airbags and ABS, the Indica Silhouette, a 3.5-litre concept car capable of doing 0-100 km in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 270 kmph.

The Armourerd Sumo 4X4 was also on display. It is powered by the 3-litre direct injection common rail diesel engine.
