Rubber Rubber prices rule steady Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Jan. 10 PHYSICAL rubber prices were steady on Tuesday. The market appeared to be in a holiday mood and there were no quantity sellers and buyers in the main marketing centres. The transactions were also on a very low key. Sheet rubber RSS 4 was quoted unchanged at Rs 70.50 a kg at Kottayam, while the grade improved marginally by 25 paise to Rs 70.75 a kg at Kochi. On NMCE, January contract was traded at Rs 71.74 (71.16), February contract at Rs 73.01 (72.48), March contract at Rs 74.75 (74.09) and April contract at Rs 76.26 (76.02) per kg for RSS 4. The January contract RSS 4 was traded at Rs 71 against 69.73 a kg on MCX. The February futures for RSS 3 improved to 208.8 yen (Rs 80.94) a kg from 204.3 yen at TOCOM. The spot prices per kg were as follows: RSS-4: Rs 70.50 (Rs 70.50); RSS-5: Rs 69 (Rs 69); ungraded: Rs 67.50 (Rs 67.50); ISNR 20: Rs 68.75 (Rs 68.75); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 50 (Rs 50).
