Human Resources Sitel India to double India headcount Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan. 9 SITEL India, part of the $1-billion Sitel Corporation, engaged in third party ITES and contact services, is set to double its India headcount and recruit about 1,000 people in its Hyderabad centre. Addressing a press conference here today, the Chief Operations Officer of Sitel Worldwide, Mr Mike Nemer, said Sitel had emerged as one of the fastest growing third party solutions provider in the areas of telecom, technology, banking and financial services and insurance and retail and plans to add more verticals to the portfolio in India. Sitel India is a 50:50 joint venture between Sitel and Tata Infotech Ltd. The Chief Executive Officer of Sitel India, Mr Safir Adeni, said the company has grown to 2,000 people in a short span and plann to double its India headcount by December. This includes about 1,000 people within two quarters in Hyderabad. So far, about 297 people are on board undergoing training, and the first call would be taken on January 16. "We are recruiting at a hectic pace and after growing to three centres in Mumbai, we have chosen Hyderabad to tap the talent pool here. "With about 77 per cent of the overall business in India being voice-based, both inbound and outbound, followed by back-office services (13 per cent), this centre offers us scope to rapidly expand," Mr Adeni said. "Sitel has invested about Rs 30 crore so far in establishing its facility in Hyderabad and may even consider locating a campus here. "We are also open to locating more centres in India," Mr Adeni said. Sitel Corporation manages 90 contact centres globally with 36,000 professionals, handling 32 languages and dialects worldwide.
