Letters Packaged drinking water
It is an eye-opener to know that 19 companies that market 30 brands of packaged water in Tamil Nadu have been banned for selling packaged water without ISI certification or on a lapsed certificate. The public have been warned to check for ISI certification and the name of the company before drinking the water. It is learnt that many companies do not come for the evaluation of their products or for their annual renewal or their facilities are not found satisfactory. There should be continuous and sustained monitoring of the marketing of spurious drinking water and the officials should ensure strict adherence to ISI norms. Seetha Nagarajan Chennai
