Performance Bajaj Auto December sales up Our Bureau
Mumbai , Jan. 2 BAJAJ Auto Ltd (BAL) today reported a 3 per cent rise in the total sale of two and three-wheelers for December 2005, to 1,73,479 units from the previous corresponding 1,68,806 units. While sale of three-wheelers was up 26 per cent at 18,534 units (14,705 units for the year-ago period), that of two-wheelers moved up by 1 per cent to 1,54,945 units (1,54,101 units), including a 3 per cent gain in the sale of motorcycles to 1,48,263 units (1,43,727 units). For the October-December quarter, BAL's total sale of 2&3-wheelers increased by 13 per cent to 5,98,698 units (5,27,859 units), including a 13 per cent rise in two-wheeler sales to 5,41,126 units (4,78,358 units). Sale of motorcycles moved up by 16 per cent to 5,11,106 units (4,41,355 units) while that of three-wheelers was 16 per cent at 57,572 units (49,501 units), an official statement said. The company's total 2&3-wheeler sales for the April-December 2005 period were up 23 per cent to 16,57,890 units (13,46,277 units), including a seven per cent gain in three-wheeler sales to 1,79,368 units (1,68,260 units) and a 26 per cent rise in two-wheeler sales to 14,78,522 units (11,78,017 units). Motorcycle sales for the period moved up by 31 per cent to 13,79,206 units (10,53,566 units).
