Our Correspondent

Madurai , Dec. 29

THE Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has arranged a one-day seminar on the modernisation and upgradation of rice pulses and oil seeds processing units at its Mepco Mini Auditorium on Friday as part of the ongoing Chamber Trade Fair 2006.

The seminar would discuss in detail on contract farming in the morning session. Experts on technical and machinery on rice, grams, pulses and oilseeds processing drawn from different institutes and industries would share their expertise knowledge for improving quality and productivity of these commodities.

In the panel discussion in the afternoon session, leading processors would be dealing with the technical problems in the day-to-day processing activities.

The main goal of the seminar is to find out ways and means of entering export market and to prepare the industry to face the emerging scenario of globalisation, a chamber press release said.
