IDMA patent awards for Aurobindo Pharma

AUROBINDO Pharma Ltd has announced that three of its US patents have been selected for the `Patent Appreciation Award' of the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA) for 2004-05.

In a release on Thursday, the company said that it was selected for the award based on patents for pure Citalopram (depression), a process for lactonisation to produce Simvastatin (hypercholesterolemia), and process for producing highly pure Simvastatin (hypercholesterolemia).

The company will receive the IDMA national level award at a function to be held at Mumbai on December 17 on the eve of IDMA's 44th annual day celebrations.
