Alliances & Joint Ventures ESC inks pact with Korea Technopark Our Bureau
New Delhi , Dec. 11 THE Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gyeonggi Technopark of Korea to maintain mutual co-operation and understanding in the IT segment, particularly in hardware. The partnership would give a fillip to exports to Korea and other Far East countries, said Mr D.K. Sareen, Executive Director, ESC. He said that an IT revolution was taking place in Korea. Areas that hold considerable potential for India include embedded technology and software solutions to automotive and other manufacturing sectors. Equally important is piggy-riding with Korean firms which have bagged massive IT orders, both in software and hardware for the Beijing Olympics, he said. Indian IT firms can team up with Korean firms in executing these orders, he added. The MoU provides for exchange of information between the two organisationsexchange of business delegations to promote business and participation in trade fairs and buyer-seller meets in either countries, said Mr Sareen.
