Kolkata , Dec. 5

ENGINEERING Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has managed to bag export orders for engineering products worth $1 million for Indian manufacturers from the South-East Asian market.

In a press statement, Mr Rakesh Shah, Chairman, EEPC, said that the council was directly involved in getting this export order from South-East Asian market by putting Indian manufacturers in touch with overseas customers.

Mr Shah further added that orders worth $1 million are also expected.

He felt that the council has been making all efforts to help the Union Government to achieve 1.5 per cent share of world trade, as envisaged by the Commerce Ministry.

South-East Asia including China has emerged as the most potential market for Indian engineering exporters and exports to this region have grown significantly.

As exports are rising, EEPC has intensified its promotional activities in this region by participating in specialised trade fairs, holding buyers-seller meets, inviting delegations as well as to organise an exclusive Indian engineering exhibition.

Mr Shah hoped that the activities planned during the next financial would yield better results for exports of Indian engineering products and earn more foreign exchange for the country.
