VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakha Utsav will be conducted from December 25 for four days instead of December 22 due to operational reasons, according to the District Collector, Mr Praveen Prakash.

At a meeting here on Saturday, he announced the change of dates and said the annual fete was being organised to promote tourism in the district and would provide a glimpse of the cultural heritage to the locals as well as tourists.

Three exhibitions would be organised as a part of the utsav — one at the main venue on the Ramakrishna beach, the second at Jaatara for handicrafts and the third of rare photos at Swarna Bharati indoor stadium. There would be a flower show atop Kailasagiri besides a number of cultural and sports events, he said. The Collector unveiled the Utsav mascot featuring a dolphin, christened Vijju.
