Hyderabad , Dec. 2

AFTER bagging Rs 495-crore worth orders from HIAL (Hyderabad International Airport Ltd) in August, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has won yet another order worth Rs 263 crore for the construction of the passenger terminal building at the upcoming Hyderabad international airport at Shamshabad.

The L&T release said the order was received from China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Ltd (CSCEHK), the main contractors for a part of the airport project.

The passenger terminal building was to handle an estimated five million passengers a year. "It will conform to global standards," the press release said.

The facilities at the terminal included a canopied hall where visitors and passengers could meet.

It would also have multi-level bays for arrivals and departures.

The twin wings of the central building would handle international and domestic traffic.

In August, L&T bagged an order for ALS (airside and landside) works from the HIAL, which was taking up the international airport project. The scope of ALS works included runway, taxiway and aprons to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft, including the new generation aircraft such as A-380.

The contract for the Rs 615-crore passenger terminal building works had been awarded to CSCEHK.

The works included the structure, all civil and finishing works. The contracts are to be executed in 30 months.
