Reliance cuts petro-chem prices

MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Ltd on Friday announced a reduction in prices for its petrochemical products. The cut in prices for December isfor all three segments - polyesters, polymers and fibre intermediates.

The maximum impact was seen in the price of polyvinyl chloride, which has been cut 17.4 per cent to Rs 38 a kg from Rs 46 in November. Polypropylene rates have been cut to Rs 57 from Rs 63 a month ago. Also, the company cut polyethylene price by Rs 3.58 from Rs 59.

Among polyesters, a similar cut in price has been made in polyester yarn to Rs 64.07 from 70.51. The polyester staple fibre price is down at Rs 65.30 from Rs 67.55.

Price of RIL's fibre intermediates, too, are down with purified terephthalic acid being cut to Rs 43.80 from Rs 45.70. In the case of mono-ethylene glycol, the cut is to Rs 44.70 from Rs 47.30.
