Mumbai , Dec. 1

GLOBAL enterprise applications provider QAD Inc has established a global resource centre (GRC) in Mumbai.

The centre would provide application support, consulting services, and research and development (R&D) activities to support QAD's applications and products for customers worldwide.

The company has planned to recruit an initial 110 application consultants, technical specialists and software engineers and other technical resources to work at the new facility.

It would be the Centre of Excellence for QAD products and operate as a global hub of QAD expertise, said a press release from the company.

The GRC would be supported by QAD's existing development and resource centres in the US, Australia, China and Ireland.

"India is core to QAD's global strategy. Our operations here demonstrate our commitment to India but also serve to reinforce and greatly enhance QAD's ability to deliver cost-efficient global solutions and services," said Mr Anton Chilton, Services Director, QAD, Asia-Pacific.

QAD has been present in India for more than 10 years with focus on the manufacturing industry. Today, it serves customers in verticals that include automotive, consumer products, electronics, food and beverage, industrial and life science products. It has over 130 customers in India, including both global and Indian manufacturing companies.
