Education LIBA to tie up with more foreign varsities Our Bureau
Chennai, Nov. 30 THE Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) will look to add to its existing tie-ups with foreign universities in the near future, with collaborations with institutes such as the University of Dayton, Ohio, US, and the Catholic University of Milan, Italy, in the pipeline. LIBA has memorandums of understanding with ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente), Mexico; Griffith University, Australia; Bordeaux School of Management, France; St Joseph's University, US; and Lille Catholic University, France, and brings personnel from those universities to give lectures to students. Fr P. Christie, Director, LIBA, said that with the current trend of globalisation, such collaborations are necessary. He said the institute has been steadily growing in volume since it began operations in 1979, and has just introduced a second batch in order to increase the availability of seats, from 60 students to 120. The institute has also introduced several new programmes such as a Ph.D programme affiliated to Madras University, and an executive MBA programme customised for individual corporates, and the setting up of an academic advisory board.
