Research & Development CICR Plant Clinic Centres Our Bureau
COIMBATORE: Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Regional Station, Coimbatore has inaugurated two Plant Clinic Centres at Kanurpudur and Chinnakanur villages of Avinashi taluk. The CICR Project Coordinator (in-charge) and Head of the regional research station, Dr K.N. Gururajan, explained that the Plant Clinics would act as access point for the growers to gain information on the pests. Trained project staff at these centres would suggest remedial measures to control the spread of the infestation throughout the cotton season, he said. The two clinics under the projects Insecticide Resistance Management and Integrated Pest Management at village level are expected to help farmers produce cost effective quality fibre in that belt.
