Mixed trend in spot rubber

THE week opened on a firm note though the trend was mixed in spot rubber. A partial recovery in international indices kept the sellers on a vigil as covering groups turned active on selected grades.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 moved up to Rs 63.75 and Rs 63.50 a kg.

Rubber futures firmed up further on NMCE. December contract ended at Rs 64.15 (Rs 63.58), January at Rs 64.65 (Rs 64.15), February at Rs 65.64 (Rs 65.16) and March contract at Rs 66.00 (Rs 65.49) per kg for RSS 4.

December contract for RSS 4 improved to Rs 64.15 a kg from Rs 63.66 on MCX.

The spot prices per kg were as follows: RSS-4: Rs 63.75 (Rs 63.00); RSS-5: Rs 61.50 (Rs 61.00); ungraded: Rs 58.25 (Rs 58.25); ISNR 20: Rs 62.25 (Rs 62.25) and latex 60%: Rs 43.50 (Rs 43.50).
