Events Amalgamations group founder's services recalled Our Bureau
Mr A. Sivasailam, Chairman, Amalgamations Pvt. Ltd, with his daughter at the birth centenary celebrations of founder S. Anatharamakrishnan in Chennai on Friday. — Vino John
Chennai , Nov. 12 A HOST of speakers led by Mr S. Ratnavel Pandian, former Supreme Court judge, paid tributes to the late S. Anantharamakrishnan, founder Chairman of the Amalgamations group, on the occasion of his birth centenary. They recalled his contribution to the industrial and economic development and his concern for workers' welfare. Mr Ratnavel Pandian, who released a booklet on the occasion, said Anantharamakrishnan contributed to the industrial development in south India. Mr A. Sivasailam, Chairman, and Mr A. Krishnamurthy, Vice-Chairman, Amalgamations group, and sons of Anantharamakrishnan, and Mr R. Kuchelan, President, Simpson and Group Companies Workers Union, were among those who spoke on the occasion. The Amalgamations group is made up of over 40 companies in manufacturing, trading and distribution, services and plantations. The companies include Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd, Simpson's, India Pistons and Higginbothams.
