Hyundai plans to launch own ad agency

KOREAN automobile major, Hyundai Motor Co is planning to launch its own advertising agency in India under which it will consolidate its advertising business.

According to sources, the new agency Innocean, to be based in Delhi, will commence operations next month. Innocean India would handle the entire creative duties of Hyundai, which comes to about Rs 50 crore. At present, Cheil Communications handles the company's media duties, and continue to do so in the near future.

Currently, Saatchi & Saatchi handles the creative duties for two of the company's brands - Santro and Getz, while Cheil handles the rest of the brands.

In India, Innocean will be headed by a Korean, Mr Y.K. Choi, and its COO would be Mr Vivek Srivastava who has joined from Triton Communications.

Innocean was started this year in Korea by a member of the family who owns Hyundai Motor Co.
