SKP Securities' new initiative to target retail segment

Kolkata , Oct. 25

SKP Securities Ltd today launched `Moneywise', its new brand aimed at the retail market.

The company expects to tap more retail investors by offering them investment solutions, including those that meet critical needs in terms of income generation and capital preservation.

SKP Securities, said Mr Naresh Pachisia, MD, hopes to provide an entire range of inputs, ranging from stock broking to commodities broking to distribution of risk management and savings products like insurance and mutual funds. He was addressing newspersons here on Tuesday.

"We hope to leverage on the high savings rate prevalent among retail investors," he said, adding that Moneywise will help investors in taking informed decisions. It will also provide financial planning solutions to clients, who are often thought to be under-serviced by intermediaries.

Financial planning, observed Mr Pachisia, goes far beyond `product selling'; investors, he added, should ask themselves whether financial advisors are trying to do good for their families or are simply selling something for the sake of commissions.

SKP Securities on another front plans to expand its presence in the region, partly through business associates. The idea is to increase the number of branches and franchisee outlets as well as share more research with its associates.
