Leather Liberty Shoes net jumps Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Footwear major Liberty Shoes Ltd on Monday reported a big jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 2005 at Rs 4.46 crore, as against Rs 11 lakh during the same quarter a year ago. The turnover grew 19 per cent at Rs 50.9 crore for the second quarter, as against Rs 42.7 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, a company press release said. Liberty said its exports also grew by 25 per cent in the quarter at Rs 19.6 crore. During the first half of the fiscal, the company's net profit jumped to Rs 8.99 crore from Rs 1.96 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said. The turnover for the first half of this fiscal stood at Rs 103.5 crore as against Rs 90.3 crore in the same period a year ago, it added.
