Outlook Logistics - Airlines Paramount Airways commercial take-off slated for Oct 19 G. Gurumurthy
Coimbatore , Oct. 14 PARAMOUNT Airways is likely to start its commercial flight on the Coimbatore-Delhi sector from October 19 and the airline has denied that the delay in starting operations is for want of clearance from the civil aviation authorities. "There is no clearance pending from the authorities as for as my knowledge goes and we have obtained all the needed clearances," Mr M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director of Paramount Airways, said. Mr Thiagarajan told Business Line that the airline had obtained today the winter schedule for the sector, cleared by the DGCA, but maintained that the pendency of the winter schedule clearance was not `strictly' the reason for the delay. With the latest schedule clearance, the service would begin from October 19, he added. A new airline headquartered in the city, Paramount Airways had originally planned to start its maiden commercial operation on the Coimbatore and Delhi sector from September 24/25. However, it postponed the date of commercial start at least three times. "We have planned two flights for travel agents and two charity flights starting from tomorrow before we could start our commercial running from Wednesday next," said Mr Thiagarajan. The airline had started booking tickets for the October 19 flight and the booking response, according to Mr Thiagarajan, was tremendous.
