RBI to extend working hours

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India will extend its office working hours by 45 minutes from October 10, on weekdays, from Monday to Friday.

Most RBI departments, except those that render critical support services, would remain closed on Saturdays.

According to a press release from the RBI, departments, such as Department of Payment and Settlement Systems, Public Accounts Department and Deposit Accounts Department would remain open on Saturday.

This will bring the RBI in close alignment with other financial sector regulatory authorities as well as with leading central banks across the world, the release said.
