Physical delivery at 8 pc for pepper futures on NMCE

PEPPER witnessed a physical delivery of 499 tonnes, which constituted 8.06 per cent of the total traded volume of 6,190 tonnes at the National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (NMCE).

Pepper futures September series maintained a distance with the spot prices throughout the transactions, a press release from NMCE said.

Rubber witnessed 1,351 tonnes of physical delivery, which was 0.96 per cent of the total traded volume of 1,40, 214 tonnes. Rubber prices were not moving in tandem with the spot prices to start with, but later aligned with the spot prices.

In coffee, 125 tonnes witnessed physical delivery - 2.38 per cent of the total traded volume of 5250 tonnes. Due to higher than expected production from Brazil, coffee prices fell in the international markets between mid-August and September. Consequently, coffee prices fell by around 12 per cent at the NMCE also during the same period. The price fell from Rs 5,721 per quintal on August 16 to Rs 5,069 on September 10. Cardamom had a physical delivery of 41 quintals against a traded volume of 15,392 quintals.

MCX: The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) witnessed physical deliveries of 169 tonnes of rubber in its September futures contract, from a total traded volume of 23,314 tonnes.

Trading in rubber futures has recorded tremendous growth and reached a daily volume of 1,200 tonnes.

Silver September contract resulted in physical delivery of 8,580 kg valued at Rs 8.96 crore, a press release from MCX has said.

Gold contract witnessed physical delivery of 3.5 kg valued at Rs 22.26 lakh. Jeera September contract had a physical delivery of 72,000 kg valued at Rs 46.84 lakh.
