Bangalore , Sept. 30

TEAM Healthcare World (THW), a wholly owned subsidiary of the US-based Innovative HealthCare Group Inc (IHG), has adopted a sustainable model to grow its venture of staffing nurses to the UK and US markets.

The company has invested significantly in setting up modern training centres, adopting best practices and standards insisted by the two countries. It plans to transfer the know-how to Indian institutions to produce nurses of higher quality for its domestic and international markets.

Mr Issac Ullatil, CEO of IHG, said some of the selected candidates were provided scholarships of over $2,000. So far, 650 scholarships have been provided. Trained nurses are also offered annual compensations of $90,000 in US and £80,000-£1,20,000 in UK.

The US was currently facing a shortage of about 8-lakh nurses and the number was 80,000 to 1,20,000 in the UK, Team HealthCare Director (European Operations), Ms Michelle Carroll, said.

Team Healthcare has set up training facilities in Bangalore and Mumbai and plans to open centres in Chennai and Hyderabad.

It also plans to introduce in its training centres, the US university education programme in best practices in patient care.
