Samkrg plans expansion

HYDERABAD: Samkrg Pistons and Rings Ltd (SPRL) plans to take up a Rs 15 crore expansion during the current fiscal, according to its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr S.D.M. Rao.

Addressing the shareholders at the annual general meeting here on Thursday, he said the company proposes to expand the capacity of pistons to 7.5 million units from 6.5 million units and enhance the piston rings capacity to 25 million units from 20 million units.

The company has set a sales target of Rs 110 crore for the current fiscal against Rs 94.08 crore posted in the previous fiscal. The company also targeted a growth of 20 per cent in profit.

During 2004-05, SPRL posted a profit before tax of Rs 10.81 crore and net profit of Rs 7.78 crore, an increase of 15 per cent over the previous fiscal, according to a press release.
