Unibic Biscuits launches brand in North

THE Bangalore-based Unibic Biscuits India (P) Ltd, a subsidiary of Unibic Australia, on Thursday launched its biscuit brands - Anzac and Bradman - in the North.

The biscuits are available in 18 gms, 50 gms and 100 gms packs and are priced between Rs 5 and Rs 25.

The company had set up its manufacturing facility in Bangalore last year with an investment of Rs 15 crore and has been marketing the product in the South Indian market

While speaking at the launch of the biscuits for the North Indian market, Mr D.D. Saxena, Managing Director, Unibic Biscuits, said: "Biscuit market in the country is around Rs 5,000 crore. We plan to acquire two per cent market share in the next 4-5 years, thus becoming a Rs 100 crore company by then." Unibic Australia has presence in New Zealand, the US, the UK and Canada apart from Australia. It has set up its first overseas manufacturing plant in India, through the subsidiary route and plans to cater to the international market through its Bangalore plant.
