The Hindu Business Line : Haldia Dock Complex bags safety award

KOLKATA: The Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) of Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) has bagged the National Safety Award for 2004. The award has been given by the Ministry of Labour and Employment for on-shore handling of cargo. Only eight accidents were reported out of about 14 million man-hours worked for the period under consideration.

HDC is the only dock system in the country, which has received such recognition. It had earlier won this award consecutively for four years for 1998 to 2001 and again for the year 2003.
