Sonia visits flood-hit areas in AP

Vijayawada , Sept. 27

THE President of the Congress party and Chairperson of the ruling United Progressive Alliance, Ms. Sonia Gandhi, visited flood-hit areas in Krishna and West Godavari districts on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Congress-I General Secretary in-charge of the State, Mr Digvijay Singh, and the President of the APCC, Mr K. Keshava Rao, accompanied her.

Ms Gandhi arrived at the Gannavaram airport here on Tuesday morning. The Chief Minsiter explained to her devastation caused by the floods.

Later, she visited Pragadapalli, a village near Polavaram in West Godavari district, and assured the flood victims of all help. She also visited a village near Ibrahimpatnam in Krishna district and a colony here.
