Cashew, which holds the second position among the agricultural commodities exported from the country, contributed to 0.66 per cent of the export earnings during 2004-05.

The export of cashew kernels in 2004-05 was 1.26 lakh tonnes valued at Rs 2,709.24 crore against one lakh tonnes valued at Rs 1,804.43 crore in 2003-04, an increase of 25.63 per cent in quantity and 50.14 per cent in value.
