President's speech

Excerpts of the President's address to the All India Conference of AGs in New Delhi (Business Line of Sept 26), were very informative, interesting and applicable not only to audit professionals but also to managers, in public and private sectors, and students of management. The responsibilities of auditors are manifold. As an independent body they can contribute to the control and evaluating aspects of management. Auditors should play a positive role in evaluating the cost and benefit ratios with interests beyond those of policing.

Auditors can adopt new methods and techniques in helping the management in better planning. Management students and faculty in B-schools could benefit from such write-ups.
