New Projects Volkswagen to send team to AP for talks Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 25 THE German automotive major Volkswagen AG is set to send a team to Andhra Pradesh to hold discussions relating to its proposed car plant in India. This follows a communication from the German company to the State Government late on Friday. It is learnt that the discussions would centre around the draft memorandum of understanding, which contains issues relating to various tax concessions, power tariff, including the Government support for the project. Earlier, this month, an envoy from the company, Mr Frank Elbe, visited the State and had invited the Government to send its representatives to Volkswagen's headquarters for further talks by September-end. However, as some State Government officials have reportedly been deployed to oversee the Bihar elections they cannot undertake the visit now, sources said.
