Hyderabad , Sept. 22

A LEADING ayurveda house of Kerala will host a global expo in December, showcasing the native system of medicine.

Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala will organise the Global Summit on Ayurveda and Expo 2005 to mark the birth centenary of Padmashri E T Neelakandhan Mooss, a name associated with the growth of ayurveda in Kerala.

About 300 delegates from abroad are expected to attend the expo. "We have tied up with Kerala Tourism and talked to travel agents to promote the expo," Mr T. Unnikrishnan and Mr Sreekumar of Oushadasala said.

The three-day expo-cum-conference would focus on lifestyle diseases, rasayana therapies and biotechnology.

They said the Rs 25-crore institute was looking at a turnover of Rs 50 crore. "We are going to invest Rs 15 crore for the expansion," they said.

The company had a network of 750 outlets, including 500 in Kerala. Each outlet is manned by a qualified doctor, besides other staff.

In Andhra Pradesh, the institute is planning to open 48 outlets more this financial year, taking the number to 50.
