Anand Kripalu is new Cadbury India MD

CADBURY Schweppes Asia-Pacific has announced that Mr Bharat Puri, Managing Director of the Indian sub-continent, has been appointed Commercial Strategy Director for Asia-Pacific and will be based in Singapore.

Mr Anand Kripalu, Managing Director for Unilever's East Africa region, will succeed Mr Puri.

Mr Puri joined Cadbury India in 1998, initially as Director for Sales and Marketing, and became Managing Director for the Indian sub-continent in 2002. He will assume his new responsibilities in November.

Mr Kripalu is an experienced consumer goods general manager and will take up his new appointment on October 26. Mr Kripalu joined Unilever (then Ponds) in 1983 as a management trainee and has worked in a variety of sales, marketing, category management and customer development roles in the oral care and detergent market segments in India. More recently, he has gained general management experience with Unilever in Africa. Mr Rajiv Wahi, President, Asia-Pacific, said Mr Kripalu's expertise in general management of consumer goods will be significant in taking Cadbury India to the next level of growth.
