SRMB Udyog, a steel re-rolling mill based at Kolkata, is on a drive to expand its market reach and is projecting a sales turnover of Rs 450 crore by the end of the current financial year.

Currently, it has a turnover of Rs 300 crore. Mr M.M. Abraham, Vice-President (marketing), who launched SRMB 500 TMT bars here on Thursday, said at a press meet that the company, one of the oldest rolling mills in the country, was adopting "a unique quenching and tempering technology". "The new bars have X-ribbed patterns on them, ensuring superior bonding strength between the concrete and the steel bars, " he said.
