Mushroom (Pleurotus Florida) cultivation has undergone a voluminous growth due to its anti-cancer, anti-diabetic and anti-cholestrol properties. The oyster variety is the most popular among growers in Andhra Pradesh, where the cost of production is Rs 17 a kg and sold at Rs 30-50, according to the Horticultural Department in Hyderabad.
