THE book India: Industrialisation in a Reforming Economy-Essays for K L Krishna was released at a function organised in the Capital on Friday.
The volume contains a set of papers on Indian industrialisation in the context of market enhancing and trade liberalising reforms that have been taking place in the country. It begins with tracing shifts in Indian industrial policy since independence. The book is dedicated to Professor K.L. Krishna of Delhi School of Economics.
The book has been published by the New Delhi-based Academic Foundation and has been edited by Mr Suresh D. Tendulkar, Mr Arup Mitra, Mr K. Narayanan and Mr Deb Kusum Das.
Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, was the chief guest at the function. Mr Raj Kapila, Director and Chief Editor, Academic Foundation presented the book to Dr C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council.
